First, thank you for visiting my website! Your friendship and support mean more to me than you know.
I decided to run for Student Body Treasurer for several reasons. I want to work towards streamlining the Student Governments appropriations process. The appropriations process is the process that student organizations (any registered with the University) apply for money which they in turn use to help their organization
serve students at NCSU in various ways. During my tenure as a member of the Appropriations Committee of the Student Senate, the process is projected to be completed in less time than ever before! This means Student Government gets clubs their money quicker so students can enjoy it sooner!
I'd also like to strengthen the relationship between the Office of the Student Body Treasurer and the rest of Student Government by being accessible and willing to work as a team player.
I'll also work to establish programs which help students develop financial literacy. Basically, I want to inform students about different challenges they will face financially while at NC State, such as credit cards and student loans. I will also fight any proposed rise in the cost of tuition. Additionally, I'll work towards lowering text book prices.
I also plan to work to get actual credit/debit cards accepted in university vending machines and eating establishments. This will be a great added convenience to students!
Most of all, I look forward to helping other students and informing them on what Student Government does or can do for them.
My past experience:
- NCSU Student Senator (elected 2006)
- Member of Appropriations Committee (only candidate for treasurer with that valuable experience)
- Member of Campus Community Committee (the committee which organizes such things as the NCSU v. UNC basketball game ticket camp out)
- Apex Parks and Rec Commissioner
- Former campaign treasurer for municipal candidate
- Former H.S. Student Body President
I look forward to serving you if elected. I will work to gather input from anyone and everyone before making decisions. Remember, I will always be an easily accessible advocate for students and student organizations!
